BEC Organizes the Knowledge Economy Conference in Partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education

At the University of Baghdad, and over two consecutive days of dedicated work and meticulous planning, Baghdad hosted the Knowledge Economy Conference: Entrepreneurial Universities and a Sustainable Economy on April 14–15, 2026. The event was organized by Tamkeen Al-Aamal in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, reflecting a firm belief that education is the true driver of any meaningful economic transformation.
A Platform Connecting Academic Thought with Practical Application
The conference served as a dynamic platform that brought together leaders from the Ministry of Higher Education, academics, researchers, business leaders, and thought pioneers under one roof. Through productive dialogue, participants explored ways to bridge the gap between university outcomes and the evolving demands of the Iraqi labor market.
This diversity of participants created significant added value, enabling the exchange of ideas, experiences, and best practices between the academic and professional sectors within an environment that encouraged innovation and forward-thinking beyond traditional frameworks.
Discussions focused on fundamental questions shaping both Iraq’s economic and academic future: How can universities evolve into effective entrepreneurial institutions? How can they contribute to building a national economy driven by knowledge and innovation rather than traditional models? And what practical steps can be taken to align educational outputs with a rapidly changing economic reality?
BEC: From the First Welcome to the Final Applause
Tamkeen Al-Aamal managed the conference through a comprehensive organizational framework that left no detail unattended. The company oversaw every aspect of the event, from guest reception and session coordination to venue management, technical operations, and media coverage that extended the conference’s reach to a broad audience of stakeholders and interested observers.
The company’s specialized teams worked around the clock to ensure a seamless experience, presenting an event that reflected both the significance of the occasion and the stature of the participating institutions.
BEC believes that effective event management is far more than arranging schedules and coordinating logistics; it is about creating a complete experience that enhances attendee engagement, enriches the quality of discussions, and maximizes long-term impact. This philosophy guided every stage of the conference.
More Than a Sponsor
The Group’s involvement extended well beyond organizational responsibilities to active support for the conference’s objectives and mission. In this context, Mr. Bahaa Al-Din Salem, Chief Executive Officer of Tamkeen Al-Aamal, emphasized that supporting high-impact conferences that unite academic knowledge with practical application is a vital step toward empowering entrepreneurial universities and enabling them to fulfill their role within Iraq’s national economic ecosystem.
He noted that this commitment stems from a genuine sense of social responsibility embraced by the Group rather than narrow commercial considerations, reaffirming the company’s dedication to supporting initiatives that create sustainable impact and leave a lasting legacy far beyond the event itself.
